The Chatham Drama Guild is the second oldest community theater on Cape Cod. This is the 76th season. The Guild began humbly in 1931, when local actors met in each other’s homes to rehearse religious plays, which were then performed in area churches. The Guild later shared space with the Women’s Club and the Chatham Band in Crowells Windmill Shop which eventually became the Monomoy Theater. In 1950, Joshua Nickerson donated the land on Crowell Road and the owners of the Mattesquon Hotel donated an out building to be used on the property.
